    Enlightening White Lightning

    I had a girl,
pretty, as a girl can be.
    She up and left me,
    went out west,
    to be on T V.

    But things went wrong,
when I tried to tag along.
    Stopped for a whiskey,
and some guy messed with me
    then with one little slug
laid him down like a rug
and I went to the pokey.

Cause I was way high, in the Smoky Mountains.
    Way down in Tennessee.
    White lightning, is quite enlightening,
when that moonshine is shining in me.

    Then one day,
a great idea came to me.
    I'd write a song
    to sing along
    at the Grand Ole Opry.

    But things went wrong,
    lyrics wouldn't come along,
    and the melody,
    just kept escaping me.
So I took a big tug
    from my little brown jug,
to get some enlightening in me.

Now I am way high, in the Smoky Mountains.
    Way down in Tennessee.
    White lightning, is quite enlightening,
when that moonshine is shining in me.

    That dream is gone,
of writing that hit country song,
    that my girl would hear,
and bring her on back to me.

    Don't know whats wrong,
    my life's not rolling along.
    The reason keeps escaping me
So I took a big tug
    from my little brown jug,
to get some enlightening in me.

Now I am way high, in the Smoky Mountains.
    Way down in Tennessee.
    White lightning, is quite enlightening,
when that moonshine is shining in me.

    Broads Brews and Pickup Trucks

    Driving down the highway,
    grinding up a steep incline.
    hear the engine moaning,
while home's heavy on my mind.
Left what feels so long ago,
    passing thousands of dashed lines.
    hauling one last load,
before heading home to that girl of mine.

    Feeling kind of lonely
    Feeling kind of down.
    Country music's on the radio,
to help me pass the time.

There's nothing like a country song,
    to pick your spirits up.
    Especially when they're singing about,
    broads, brews and pickup trucks.

The last words that I said,
to that sweet woman of mine.
    Truly regretful that,
those words were so far from kind.
    We argued about money,
and bills that got way behind.
    This haul should pay enough,
to get me out of that bind.

    Feeling kind of lonely
    Feeling kind of down.
    Country music's on the radio,
to help me ease my mind.

There's nothing like a country song,
    to pick your spirits up.
    Especially when they're singing about,
    broads, brews and pickup trucks.

    Wheels clack on pavement lines,
    sounding like a metronome.
    A painful reminder,
of many miles yet to come.
Can't wait to get back home,
to that lovely girl of mine.
    Give her hugs and kisses,
to make sure that she stays mine.

    Feeling kind of lonely
    Feeling kind of down.
    Country music's on the radio,
to help me pass the miles.

There's nothing like a country song,
    to pick your spirits up.
    Especially when they're singing about,
    broads, brews and pickup trucks.

    Have A Real Nice Day

    When you left me
    it broke my hart,
    forgiveness can be
    quite an art.
So all I will say is,
    Have a real nice day.

    Why don't you
go for a stroll in the park.
Leave the keys in the car
    with all the doors locked.
    Step in dogie doo,
    and ruin your shoes.

    I think that sounds like
    a nice day for you.
So all I will say is,
    have a real nice day.

    Why don't you
    go to your favorite mart,
where your car gets dinged by
    a loose shopping cart.
    Your bag splits open
    dumps all on the ground.

    I think that sounds like
    a nice day for you.
So all I will say is,
    Have a real nice day.

    Why don't you
go out on a first blind date.
    when he finally shows up,
    he's past an hour late.
    then he feigns surprised
    his credit card's expired.

    I think that sounds like
    a nice day for you.
So all I will say is,
    Have a real nice day.

    Why don't you
go out for a nice drive.
    Then its discovered that,
    your tags are expired,
    by a rolling stop,
    in front of a cop.

    I think that sounds like
    a nice day for you.
So all I will say is,
    Have a real nice day.
    Have an extra special,
    super duper,
    really nice day.

    No Place For Hate

    It's our god given right,
to pursue a free and happy life.
    There's no place for hate,
    in the great United States.
    It's not about your party,
It's what's best for God, family and country.

    It's in the Declaration,
    we the people,
    control our nation.
    But you can't do that,
when you don't have the facts.

    Don't let the hate,
    divide the great United States.
Let us all be living free
    in a democracy.

    You can't steer a nation,
    based on disinformation.
    You can't trust the news,
they hide or lie about the truth.
    They're a propaganda machine,
for which ever way they lean.

    We need the truth,
    to stay free from tyranny.
    We the people must decide,
not politicians over stuffed with pride,
    how to keep America free.

    Don't let the hate,
    divide the great United States.
Let us all be living free
    in a democracy.

    Don't listen to the hate.
    It's time for real debate.
    Don't post mean memes,
    Explain why you disagree.
    Use common sense,
don't look through a filtered lens.
    Then you may find,
that we are much more in kind.

We all fear the same things.
    Pointing fingers and placing blame
    it's all an attempt
    to divide us with hate.
There are forces working to destroy,
    the greatest nation ever deployed.
    We must unite,
pull to center, left and right,
if we wish to remain free,
    living in a democracy.

    Don't let the hate,
    divide the great United States.
Let us all be living free
    in a democracy.

    Day On The Lake

    Life is great,
when you're out on the lake,
    listening to tunes,
    cruising in your pontoon.
    When the weather is hot,
    popping a top,
    of something real cold,
    makes the day true gold.

Nothing's greater than a day on the lake,
hanging with friends, until the day is late.

    Life is great
    when bouncing on the wake,
    being towed on a tube,
    behind an Evinrude.
    If you take a spill,
    you can just be chill,
    they will turn around,
    to do another round.

Nothing's greater than a day on the lake,
hanging with friends, until the day is late.

    Life is great
when you float on the lake,
    hanging with your buds,
    while sipping down suds.
    Resting on your floater,
in the wake of other boaters,
    bobbing up and down,
    while hanging around.

Nothing's greater than a day on the lake,
hanging with friends, until the day is late.

    Life is great,
when you have a short wait,
    at your fishing hole,
    putting out your pole.
    When the fish don't bite,
    it is quite all right,
    your day is still great,
by being out on the lake.

Nothing's greater than a day on the lake,
hanging with friends, until the day is late.

    Life is great,
when you're down by the lake,
    soaking up the sun,
    having lots of fun.
    Party on the beach,
    with all your favorite peeps,
    there's no better way,
    to have a great day.

Nothing's greater than a day on the lake,
hanging with friends, until the day is late.

    Lynelle

I was out for the night, just wanting to dance.
Not looking for love, not even romance.
I stuck to the fast songs, cause I can't slow dance.

I was out on the floor, jumping around,v feet and arms flying with complete abandon.
A slow song came up, so I went to sit down.
When I got to my chair, a blond cutie was there.

    On a hot summer night
    that I'll always remember.
I met a girl named Lynelle,
    at a place called Harvelle's.

I'm sure that I blushed when anxiety struck,
when she asked me to dance.
My mind stopped working, and I just blurted,
    Sorry, I can't slow dance.

She turned in a huff, and as she walked off,
I'm thinking, don't let her getaway.
So I took a shot, of my Makers Mark,
and walked over for a talk.

    On a hot summer night
    that I'll always remember.
I met a girl named Lynelle,
    at a place called Harvelle's.

Lynelle was born and raised in Hollywood,
I was just a geek from the southeast woods.
She dated movie stars, while I'd been, cruising bars.
Didn't seem like much of a chance of finding romance.

When a fast song came on, I didn't take long,
and asked her to dance with me.
She sure knew how to move, we were both in the groove,
    having a real good time.

That ended real quick when she slipped on something slick,
that sent her crashing to the floor.
Much to my surprise with no hint of lost pride,
she bounced back up, completely in stride.

It was at that moment, my heart had truly spoken,
she was the one and only girl for me.
I found romance, when she asked me to dance.

    On a hot summer night
    that I'll always remember.
I met a girl named Lynelle,
    at a place called Harvelle's.

Shy of a year later we married in Los Vegas.
Many years have passed since then.
We slow dance together, now and forever.
We found romance, when she asked me to dance.

    On a hot summer night
    that I'll always remember.
I met a girl named Lynelle,
    at a place called Harvelle's.

    Margarita Monday

When I got to work, it was five past eight.
The boss chewed me out, for being five minutes late.

I went down the hall to my cubical.
I put down my stuff, then saw a post it note.
It said important meeting, starts at eight A M.
I dashed to the meeting, that took four hours to end.

There's no way, this is gonna be a fun day.
It's turning into a margarita Monday.
I can't wait for that first big sip,
of something sweet and sour, with salt on the lip.

A report was due, that I had to crunch.
After that meeting, I had to work all through lunch.

Finished the report, and went down the hall,
to fetch a copy, but the printer had stalled.
There was nothing I could do, except just wait,
So I went for coffee, but the pot was empty.

There's no way, this is gonna be a fun day.
It's turning into a margarita Monday.
I can't wait for that first big sip,
of something sweet and sour, with salt on the lip

I'm brewing a pot, as the boss walks in.
He said where's that report, it's was due at ten.

I tried to explain, the printer was jammed,
he wouldn't hear it, and angrily exclaimed,
get it on my desk a sap, or you're out of a job.
Forgot about the coffee, and scurried along.

There's no way, this is gonna be a fun day.
It's turning into a margarita Monday.
I can't wait for that first big sip,
of something sweet and sour, with salt on the lip.

Got to the printer, the report was there,
but dropped the pages, and they flew everywhere,

Next thing you know, the new cute guy was there,
helping me gather, all the papers I'd scattered.
I dashed them off to the boss, to embarrassed to talk.
I'm sure the new guy thought, that I was a dork.

There's no way, this is gonna be a fun day.
It's turning into a margarita Monday.
I can't wait for that first big sip,
of something sweet and sour, with salt on the lip

The day had ended, it was time to escape,
and headed to where, the margaritas are great.

When I arrived there, much to my surprise,
sitting at the bar, was the same cute new guy.
I went to say thanks, and then he replied,
Buy ya margarita, it's been that kind of day.

There's a way, this is gonna be a fun day.
It's turned into a margarita Monday.
I can't wait for that first big sip,
of something sweet and sour, with salt on the lip.
